Around here life is crazy, messy and we love every minute!

Beautiful, Yet Functional Laundry Room and Office Upgrade on a Budget

The next room in our Home DIY reveal is our office. Two weeks ago I shared with you the major transformation our kitchen made. Sadly, I do not have any before pictures of this room. I got swept up in gutting the room. But it used to be my parents bedroom and you had to walk through a small bathroom with a stand up shower to get to their bedroom. Now, the room has completely changed!    So to begin, I wanted to say almost all of our colors in our house are the Benjamin Moore Affinity color line. I have… Read More

It Works! Wraps Review

This host has been sponsored by ShapeLeighWraps.com. The comments and opinions are that of Messy Kennedy and were no influenced by the sponsor.    As many of you may know, my husband and I are trying to get in shape and taking better care of ourselves. We have started working out and trying to eat a healthier, more balanced diet (but I still have my chocolate splurges occasionally). My wonderful friend Leigh contacted me and asked me if I wanted to try out one of her It Works! products and do a review on here.  To be honest, I was… Read More

Slow Cooker Pork Gyros

If you remember way back when…. Okay, so January wasn’t that long ago but it feels like it. But back to our California vacation I was so very excited about getting some gyros. I have a love affair with gyros and not the ones at that popular college town restaurant in Michigan. The place starts with an M and those are not good gyros.  I was browsing my rediscovered favorite social media site, Pinterest, when I found this recipe for Slow Cooker Pork Gyros. I almost peed my pants because it was like fate. It needed a pork loin. Dude, I… Read More

9 Tips for Dating a FarmHer or RancHer Part II

My wonderful friend Megan from The Beef Jar wrote this funny but true post about 14 Tips for Dating a FarmHer or RancHer. There are lot of posts about dating farmers and ranchers, but there aren’t many about dating a woman farmer or rancher. I am guilty of it too seeing as I wrote this post. I loved hers so much, but I felt like there were a few more we could add to it!    1. We can castrate with our teeth. This was already said in the first edition. But I felt it needed repeating. So don’t mess with… Read More

Ashley’s Favorite Things Giveaway #2

The last giveaway is one of my favorites from the kitchen. I can tell you I could have picked a hundred different products for this giveaway. When I started to think about one of my most often used tools I thought of my cookbook library that is in my new pantry. When in doubt about what to make, I go to my Pioneer Woman cookbooks.  I have been following Ree’s blog since I started into blogging and she was relatively new too. I feel like we are friends. She has no idea who I am but I can pretend. I… Read More

When Things Don’t Work Out: A Journey in Infertility

I went around and around in my head as to whether I was going to publish this post. I wasn’t sure if everyone was tired of hearing about this. But then I remembered all of the people that contacted me about this topic. There were so many people that didn’t understand why this is such a taboo topic. In the end I decided to post it becaues I wanted to share my exprience and show that this isn’t something to be ashamed of. I also wanted to share this for the people who just don’t understand personally but have a… Read More

Banana Cinnamon Muffins

Last week I got asked to make muffins for a breakfast our local FFA Chapter was putting on. I have enough over ripe bananas in my freezer to make a dozen loaves of banana bread. I decided I would tackle some Banana Cinnamon Muffins after I found this delicious recipe on th Betty Crocker website.   Betty really had something going on with these muffins. They are delicious, moist and not good on your waistband at all. Who doesn’t want melted butter with cinnamon and sugar on top? It makes everything better. Butter makes everything better. That is my life… Read More
