Around here life is crazy, messy and we love every minute!

A Letter to My Daughter: A #MothersPromise

I was compensated for the #motherspromise campaign. However, the opinions are all my own and my love of Pampers is completely unrelated to this campaign and began the day my daughter was born.

Dear Calli,

After trying so hard to have you, I knew we would love every second of being a parent. What I couldn’t imagine is how much I would instantly love you. The strength of my love for you is something I cannot describe. I have to admit I love being a mother more than I could have imagined. This is the most challenging, yet the most rewarding job I have ever done.

When I was asked by Pampers to participate in the #MothersPromise campaign I knew what I wanted to promise you. I promise I will make sure you have every opportunity open to you. As a woman who has rammed her way into a male dominated industry and made a name for herself, I want to make sure you know you can do and be anything. Whether you decide to be a stay at home parent, a lawyer, a fashion designer or a farmer like your father and I. I promise to love and support you. Until then, I promise to be an example of a strong woman being who she wants.

I started my promise by only using the best of everything and Pampers Premium Care diapers from Walmart fall right to the top. The diapers are not only 5 star skin care, hypoallergenic and extra absorbent, but also so soft. I can honestly say they are the most cloth-like disposable diapers I have ever felt. My choosing to use the best products I can find is how I will start your life comfortably, that way you can grow and thrive.
I will lead by example. I promise to always show you what being a strong woman is. The best way to become a strong woman is to see one every day. I will be that woman for you. Seeing your beautiful smile each morning is my reminder to be the example I can. It will help me keep my #motherspromise in the front of my mind.
I will teach you to be a kind person. Part of being a strong woman is knowing when being a leader is appropriate and when kindness is needed. Being giving and kind is just as important as any other trait. I promise I will show you how full your heart can be from giving, rather than receiving.

I promise to support you in anything you want to do. Regardless of what your passion in life is, I promise to love and support you. Whether you are a stay at home parent or a working parent. Whether you become an office assistant or a construction worker. It doesn’t matter to me, I will love you and support you.

I have this reminder on my refrigerator. My Aunt Lin made it for me. It will remind me time is so precious and I only have so long to be an example for you. In 940 short Saturday’s you will be able to make your own decisions and I hope I will have fulfilled my #motherspromise.

Love,
Your Mother
