Messy Kennedy

Around here life is crazy, messy and we love every minute!

Occupational Hazards: Manure and Little Hooves

Today was like any other day on a farm.  I experienced the two typical occupational hazards we experience on a daily basis… cow manure and hooves.  My job today was to measure and weigh heifer calves.  Sadly, karma was working against us and the heifers got the best of us.

Dirty Pants

Yup, dirty clothes are just an occupational hazard of being of a farm.

On top of having a new load of laundry to do I also got a nice bump and bruise on my knee.  Okay, so not exactly a bump and bruise.  A heifer’s hoof happened to hit me on the inside of my knee.  I wanted to post a picture of the bruise too, but I couldn’t get a good angle of it since it’s on my knee.

Even though my knee hurts and I am limping slightly, I still had a great day and I still love what I do.  Occupational hazards or not, I wouldn’t change my career for anything.
