This week is National FFA Week. I got started in FFA when I was a sophomore in high school. My motivation was because I wanted to take part in the floriculture contest. I thought putting together flower arrangements sounded fun. Funnily enough, I never did that contest. Honestly, it doesn’t bother me either. I had so many amazing experiences during my time in The National FFA Organization that it doesn’t matter. So many amazing leaders and people have gone through the FFA. Even knowing that I have 5 things I want you know about the organization. 1. We are not… Read More

The affiliate links help to offset the cost of my blog and time. So I hope they will not deter you. It’s official. We have a one year old. Well, she’s actually 13 months! I’ve been procrastinating on this post because I wasn’t sure how I wanted to go about it. After some thought I decided to do my favorite baby registry picks. A year and a half ago when I was finishing up my registry… Read More
I love something I can bake ahead and have ready for breakfast for a few days. It’s the hardest meal for me to get because I’m usually getting ready for the day and then before I know it Calli is waking up and ready to go. I started going through Pinterest and thought this recipe sounded really good. I decided to try it and since then I have adapted it to be this recipe I make often. If you are looking for something really healthy this is not it. Although you could omit the chocolate and it would be much… Read More
6 months ago I made the decision to begin running. It was a choice I made to take my own health into my own hands. I wanted to do something for myself. I wanted to prove I could do it. In the end, this journey has become a true passion of mine. I love going out for a run and wish that I could do it more than the two days a week I squeeze in right now. I get excited every time I sign up for a new race because it gives me a new mini goal to work… Read More
I know so many people worry. Through the years I have heard worries that range from pesticides to antibiotics to sustainability to water. I just listened to a TED talk the other day where a speaker “explained” apples are doused in pesticides. There is a lot of colorful language used to describe farming and the practices. I have heard we douse food with poison and shoot up animals with antibiotics. Let me say this, life on the farm is not that exciting. Not at all. We do not douse food with poison. When you see a farmer spraying a field,… Read More
I, like all moms have learned a lot since I had my daughter almost a year ago. I realize I still have a lot to learn. My daughter was born right before Christmas. When I say right before Christmas I mean on December 20th she was born and we got home on the 24th. The thought of traveling anywhere longer than a half hour with her was really overwhelming. Luckily since she was brand, spanking new so we had the perfect excuse to not go to all of the holiday get-togethers. But not all of us are that lucky. Because… Read More
Before I was a mom there were a lot of things I enjoyed. For example, trendy clothes that can only be hand washed, frilly lingerie, running into people I know grocery shopping, and drinking wine with friends. Since I had my daughter almost a year ago, a lot of these things change. It’s amazing how once you have a baby, you do all of those things you said you would never do. I always said I would never be that woman in the grocery store. You know, the one that looks just beat. Believe me, I have been her. I… Read More
I had a reader request to learn more about our Robotic Calf barn. So, I decided to do a video about it. Enjoy and I hope you enjoy it!
